Meet Dr. Ed Hobbs
After receiving his doctorate degree from Baylor College of Dentistry and completing a three-year residency at USC’s OSTROW School of Dentistry, Dr. Edward Hobbs opened DentaCare Dental Group in Longview, TX in 1974. Our patients appreciate Dr. Hobbs for his commitment, leadership, friendliness, and genuine concern for their wellbeing.
Dr. Hobbs has completed extensive dental implant training and he belongs to the International Congress of Oral Implantologists (ICOI) and the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID), which are two major implant governing bodies for implant dentists. These associations provide Dr. Hobbs with a thorough understanding of implantology, helping him master the techniques needed for successful implant placement.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I see my dentist?
We recommend that you visit your dentist at least once every six months or twice a year. This ensures that your teeth remain healthy and clear of harmful bacteria. We’ll also monitor your oral health and make sure you’re not at risk for any serious conditions.
Some patients may need to visit our office more frequently due to an increased risk of developing oral complications. If you fall under this category of patients, Dr. Hobbs will let you know and work with you to develop a plan to improve your oral health condition.
What questions should I ask a new dentist?
When in search of a new dentist, you may want to schedule a consultation prior to treatments to ensure that they are a good fit for your needs.
You can start by searching for dentists on the website of your insurance provider. This will give you an idea of what dentists are in your neighborhood and what services they offer. Questions you may want to consider asking during the consultation include:
- Will you provide instructions and information on ways to improve oral health?
- Do you offer emergency services?
- How do you treat patients with dental anxiety?
- Is your office familiar with my insurance plan?
- Are there any financing options available?
- Do you treat children?
- How long does it take to get an appointment?
- Is there a fee for canceled or missed appointments?
- What kind of dental technology do you use?

If you’re looking to improve your smile, all you need to do is schedule a consultation with Dr. Hobbs. He can perform an examination and suggest options that can give you a beautiful and healthy smile. To get the smile that you want, Dr. Hobbs may combine multiple procedures.
